Road to the Oscars 2014: It's pool time!!!

No estaba muerta... estaba de parranda y lo prometido es deuda. He estado muy ausente, lo sé, mea culpa. Probablemente algunos ya estén enterados y otros no de que ahora soy la redactora de la revista Marie Claire México y Latinoamérica :) ... I'm happy as a pup with two tails, pero los tiempos editoriales son muy demandantes y no había podido retomar el blog.

La buena noticia es que ya tengo laptop nueva (standing ovation), por lo que ahora será más sencillo subir mis posts sin tardarme 3 días en lo que carburaba mi antigua y fiel compañera. Decidí comenzar esta nueva etapa de "La Chica Almodóvar 2.0" (pfff... bitch, please) con la famosísima quiniela anual de los Premios de la Academia, la mejor forma de compartir con otros cinéfilos a distancia y ponerle un poco de sabor a nuestra noche de Oscars.

Todos son bienvenidos y las reglas son las mismas del año pasado. Quien me supere en predicciones se llevará la flamante edición especial para coleccionistas del 25 aniversario de The Goonies. Woo hoo!!! En caso de haber un empate haré una pregunta sobre la ceremonia del 2 de marzo y quien la responda primero al correo del blog lachicaalmodovarblog@gmail.com resultará ganador. Sólo pueden participar una vez.

La mecánica ya se la saben si participaron en 2013 y si no se las repito: Sólo deben dar copy/paste a mi lista, señalar a sus favoritos y postearla en los comentarios. El último día para depositar las quinielas es el 1 de marzo a las 11:59 pm. Pueden editarlas cuantas veces quieran hasta ese momento, después ya no se vale cambiar de opinión.

Primero que nada haré unos cuantos comentarios sobre las nominaciones de este año. No sé si los miembros de la Academia estaban en ácidos cuando nominaron a Philomena en lugar de Inside Llewyn Davis o Blue Jasmine a Mejor Película y peor aún... que hayan ignorado completamente La Vie d'Adele o también conocida como Blue Is The Warmest Color en la categoría de Mejor Película Extranjera. Otra cosa que me pareció curiosa es que Jagten o The Hunt o La Caza o como quieran llamarle esté nominada este año cuando su participación en el Festival de Cannes fue en 2012... Don't get me wrong, AMÉ esa película y ojalá gane en su rubro, pero creo que hubo un desfase con los tiempos. También me hubiera gustado ver nominada a Emma Thompson por Saving Mr. Banks; me pareció genial su personificación de P.L. Travers, pero bueno, ni hablar.

Mi gallo (como podrían imaginárselo) es 12 Years a Slave, pero considero que todas las nominadas -excepto Philomena- son dignas competidoras. Las categorías de Mejor Actor y Mejor Actor de Reparto están reñidísimas y me pregunto si este año será el primero en que el premio a Mejor Director se divida en dos. Tanto Alfonso Cuarón como Steve McQueen lo merecen sin duda. En fin, basta de mis opiniones que a nadie le interesan, les dejo mi lista y a ver de qué cuero salen más correas. Bring it on!
